2-24-05 Went for my 6 month post op visit with Dr. Duncan's office. On his scales I have lost a total of 86 pounds since surgery. I am happy with that but I have to admit to being a little disappointed with not reaching the century mark by now. But I am healthier and my Husband is working my you know what off at the gym although because of schedules and caring for Gunnar (needing a babysitter so we can both go at the same time) it hasn't been as regular as we both want to be. I would prefer to go every night so I can get as much weight off as possible but take what you can get as caring for my son has to come before anything else. I am halfway to my goal weight which is a good thing. Lately though, I have been experiencing some dizziness, food getting stuck when eating and pain in my pouch. I was a good girl and discussed everything with the doctor's office yesterday. They sent me down the hall for some blood work and and I am waiting for them to call me with an appointment because they want me to have an upper GI done to see what if anything is causing this. I have to admit to being nervous especially since this is the first time I have really experienced any issues since surgery. Has anyone had a upper GI since surgery, what do I expect??? Hugs and prayers to everyone, T

I'm curious, Theresa...I'm 6 months out too, almost 7...we're close, btw, I've lost 96 lbs. Don't fret cause you haven't made it to 100 yet. It'll happen! Now....back to Im curious... the "pain in the pouch" you refer to, exactly what sort of pain. I've, over a period of weeks, experienced some just absolute "burning" in the pouch area....not up high...but pouch...definite pouch. I mean the first time was with a piece of pepperoni! Boy, did I learn my lesson on that one..It sat me on fire!, but since then.....and just sporadically, I'll experience burning, pain. Sometimes from what I would think would be mild foods...not highly seasoned. In fact, it had just started around 4 month check up and Dr. B said let him know if it continued and tests could be ordered to eliminate possibility of ulcers, etc. I haven't called because I'll go a LONG time with no pain/discomfort....and think, I'm over it...then all of a sudden something will set me off.....though I can't always pinpoint which food might have caused it of if it's even CAUSED by certain foods.
