Atl Med Center - HELP?

O.K. - I'm just reading the posts about the EDunwoody and Northside Hospitals. Can anyone give me an idea on what surgery/staff at Atlanta Medical Center with Dr. Duncan is like?? EDunwood has bariatric beds and bariatric wing, and private rooms, etc. What's it like at Dr. Duncan's hospital????? I plan to have the surgery with him in the next couple of months. THANKS!!!

AMC has a bariatric wing. You also will have a private room and a bariatric bed. The gowns are also bariatric-sized. The nurses and assistants who cared for me were outstanding! I could NOT have been more pleased. When I needed help, they came immediately and never made me feel like I was a bother...even when my BEHIND kept paging them without me knowing it. The only negative was that that you will be next to the helicopter pad and may hear the noise. I was fortunate, and there were no emergencies after 10:00, so it didn't bother me. Several of the nurses are former WLS surgery patients, so they know exactly how you are feeling. Hope this helps! Becky

SUSAN YOU COULDVE PICKED A BETTER HOSPITAL FOR THIS SURGERY THEY HAVE A BARIATRIC WING THE 8TH TOWER THE NURSES ARE GREAT I HAD COMPLIATION AND SPENT 28 DAYS THERE AND YOU TALK ABOUT SOME FANTASTIC PEOPLE I MADE SOME VERY SPECIAL FRIENDS AND CONTINUE TO VISIT THEM ONCE A MONTH. DR DUNCANS STAFF ARE FANTASTIC WHO WILL BE DOING YOUR SURGERY DUNCAN OR HOBSON. HAVE YOU BEEN TO ANY SUPPORT GROUPS AT ATLANTA MEDICAL IF YOU HAVENT GONE YOU SHOULD WE HAVE A GREAT TIME THERE AND ITS VERY EDUCATIONAL 2ND THURSDAY AND THE 3RD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH SAT AT 12:00 ANF THURSDAY AT 6:00P.M IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER WUESTIONS DONT HESITATE TO EMAIL ME

Ditto on everything Becky said! I was extremely pleased with the hospital and the staff at Atlanta Medical Center. The helicopter pad became a real treat for my husband to watch! LOL and I really don't remember it being a problem for me at all.

Yep...ditto...staff was kind, courteous, friendly, and my husband loved to watch the copters take off and land as well. Heck, I have a hearing deficit. No hearing aids in and half doped up...never bothered me! Haha!
