OT Churches/Columbus/Phenix City?
Hey, I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a good church in the Columbus/Phenix City area? I rwas raised southern baptist/pentacostle but its been such a long time since I have been in an actual Church. With my HD gone, I am very lonely and I feel that a good dose of some good ole' Jesus will do my children and I some good. I have gone a few in town, but haven't found what feels like home. It always seemed that I was one of the many faces lost in the crowd. Anyone with a suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi there, our old pastor, Jimmy Elder, formerly from First Baptist of Thomson, Ga. is now the pastor at First Baptist of Columbus. He's a wonderful pastor and I know his services are on your local tv, so you could check it out. He was wonderful here...we really miss him and his family. Check it out??? be blessed and stay encouraged, Florrie
Hey, Kimberly, I don't know of one in your area, but I will ask at my church. I go to First Baptist Woodstock, and I was brought up in the Church of God, so we have similar backgrounds. You know, Randall Culpepper on the Alabama board ministers at a church in Alabama (Church of God). You may want to ask him as well. My pastor gave his testimony this morning, and over 100 people went forward for prayer. We watched online. My son brought home a bunch of friends, even two new girls who looked nice. They were actually in dresses. His current girlfriend is a bit clothing deprived...wore hot pants to church the first time I saw her...not that there's anything wrong with that. It has always been my dream that he would find a Christian girl to help settle him down...since he has been called to preach. I've been praying for my future daughter in law since Drew was born. She'll have to be very special to put up with him. Lord, help us!!! Tonight, the governor is preaching. He goes to our church. Every time teachers don't get raises, I have to pray to love him! I'll have to miss tonight because of the fever, etc., but it should be great. If you go to a church, be sure to plug into a Sunday school class. My church is huge...runs about 7,000, but my Sunday school class is a very close circle of friends who I can always count on. I'll ask my brother-in-law and dad (both are Church of God preachers) about churches in your area as well.
Hugs,
Becky
