I am three months out next week. even though I am cleared to eat food, I can't My meals are always: wendy's chili shrimp ( I never thought I would say I am sick of shrimp) bean soup/refried beans protein shakes I eat the same thing every day..day in, day out. I have tried ground turkey, chicken (in every form possible), beef, tuna, fish, etc...it always makes a return appearance. Can someone give me some ideas? Any soups with soft meats, or anything??? If I see another shrimp or bean I will lose it!! I know I don't have a stricture or anything...just a grouchy pouch!! Thanks! Kathy

Have you tried a beef enchilda without the tortilla. I've been able to enjoy those for a long time. I'm 6.5 months out. What about soft boiled eggs? I learned to "suck it up" and leave the yellow sorta runny....and then smu**** with a fork and it went down good. Same would be true of poached eggs, I expect. Scrambled eggs don't work...they're more rubbery and get stuck. Have you tried just sliced cheese and saltines? with some fruit? Cottage cheese with fruit is a great protein supplier. I actually am one that loves cottage cheese. Canned soups, like minestrone? beans have protein...but you get some other veggies as well. Have you tried cooking a boneless, skinless chicken breast in canned broth? It's sorta like poaching it...but keeps it really moist.

I made this and ate it alot. Container of cottage cheese Lite and Lively has more calcium and one container of fat free cool whip and your favorite flavor or sugar free jello. I use mandarin orange. When you can take it I add the mandarin oranges packed in their own juices out of a can. You can change the jello to lime and add crushed bing cherries. etc... I also are poached eggs alot. I also would eat fish. You can get frozen squares of white fish. I can find cajun, lemon and black pepper and regular. I nuked it in the microwave oven and in 3 minutes I could eat. It does get better. I remember the what can I eat days. I also would eat black eyed peas. Have you tried crab? I was able to eat crab and tuna fish well. Good luck Lynn

How about trying some pimento cheese on crackers. When my pouch was groughy (still is occasionally) thats what I like to eat. If you can eat some Wendy's chili, try making some sloppy joe's (drain your mean well on paper towels). I ate that on Frito's since I couldn't eat a bun. It was good and tasty. Something else is canned beef stew. The meat is very tender. I like Dinty Moore brand.

Hi Kathy, Try eating peanut butter and crackers, I also ate campbells veg beef soup, but my favorite is Potato soup from O'charlie's, I have moments that will act like yours, but for the most part I can eat anything I want. except eggs...YUK they come back to visit, so I dont eat them. To help with the meat I bought a chopper and I chop the meat really fine on the days that I cant eat it very well. I hope this helps and good luck to you. Tina 11/29/04
