Pre-op my surgeon had me on iron supplement 3x a day. I haven't been taking it post-op because she didn't tell me too. The reason she put me on it was this. My iron was low, but not anemic levels. She wanted to boost it up before surgery. Now here is my question. I am post op 2 weeks yesterday. Could I already have a deficiency in iron? My thighs and legs have been numb and tingling for a few days now. Today while I sat on the toilet(sorry) both my legs fell asleep. Had to hold onto the wall to walk. What is up with this? Did anyone else or does anyone have this problem? You veterans get on board and tell me what to do. Should I call my pcp or my surgeon? i don't like this at all. Thanks, Tonya Waters P.S. I am taking all my supplements plus sublingual B-12. Is my body absorbing the sublingual B-12?

Tonya,, Sorry you are having the numbness and tingling in your legs and thighs. I am sorry I can't answer any of your questions I have no experience. If continues I would definitely call the doctor. Maybe some one will post with some knowledge soon. I hope you get better soon. Meso

Hey Tonya, I have numbness abd tingling but it is from my back and knee problems so I can't help you much with that part. The best thing to do would be call your doc and ask them what you need to do. They know better than we do. Let me know how it goes. Hugs, Debra =^..^=

Hi Tonya, I am 5 weeks post op and I had the exact same thing during my first 2 weeks and it happened when I was on the toilet too. I have no idea what caused it but it hasn't happened since. Best of luck to you! ~Bonnie

Tonya, I think don't worry about it because i had the EXACT same thing and it puzzled my doctor. He went ahead and did blood work and everything was normal. He couldn't never explain it. It must be something common though. But OF COURSE if you are concerned you should always ask your doctor. It never hurts to be sure!! Congrats on your surgery!!! Penny F.

Tonya! I had the same problem only one time, about 3 days after my surgery and I have not experience it again. Suggest you call your physician and let them know whats going on. Its always better to be safe & know that everything is ok. It'll takes the worry off. Best Wishes! ki
