Hey, Folks, I need the names of some good hotels (clean and safe) located near Cheddar's in Macon. Keep in mind that I get lost easily. Hugs, Becky

Becky I'm also planning on staying the night in Macon. I've done a little research on the internet and there is a Holiday Inn Express and a Howard Johnson's near the resturant (on the same road). I know there are more hotels on Riverside Drive but I can not think of any names. I spent a very traumatic week in one of those hotels about 24 years ago when I took my nursing boards. Macon in the summer and 2000 people taking a standardized test is truely hell. I may have flash backs while I am there. Haven't spent any longer than the time it takes to fill up the gas tank on the way to Savannah since. Let me know where you are gong to stay and maybe we can get breakfast Sunday. I'm thinking of calling the holiday inn later this week if nothing better comes up denise

Your nursing boards sound like my national boards for teachers...I may never get over the trauma. Actually, I lost 100 pounds the first year, and gained 80 the second. Every time I read about a politician complaining about my yearly raise, I feel sick again. I have decided where to stay yet. E-mail me when you decide. Did you read the note from Lynn about the Holiday Inn Express? She mentioned that the location might be confusing...I have to avoid "confusing." Hugs, Becky

Hey Becky, The area we choose has everything near by. You name it it is there and all less than 1 mile away. The area is a safe and very business minded area. Alot of corporations put people up in that area. I would just go for price. There isn't one I can think of that is awful or unsafe. When ya get off the interstate you will see that if you turn right you have major strip malls with Kroger and Publix, Barnes and Noble, etc... lots of traffic.. (The Atlanta folks will feel like home!) See ya Saturday Lynn

Sounds good! The Barnes and Noble sounds very interesting since I will be off the next week for winter break. Thanks, Becky

OK, lets see if I can remember..... I know there is a Fairfield Inn, and a Marriot Residence Inn, Courtyard By Marriot. These are all on Sheraton Dr. across the interstate from Cheddars. And they are just down from Rock A Blly's for those who don't want to get lost after being at the night club. Also on that side of the interstate is LaQuinta, Red Roof InnSleep Inn-north and Super8... All very nice hotels... Either on River Place Dr, or Super 8 on Arkwright Rd. On the other side of the interstate on the Cheddars side are on Riverside Dr are Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Studioplus. These are all pretty close of both Cheddars and Rock A Billy's. Let me know if y'all want phone numbers, and I'll post them. Hope this helps! Susan Lap RNY 12-1-04 285-231-155 (-54)

I'm not going to be able to come AGAIN! (I know this one's gonna be fun!! Accckkk!)since a g/f's 50th b'day party is Sat. BUT based on Becky's request, I did look on orbitz.com and they had some really REASONABLE 3 star motels rated by AAA. There was a Rodeway Inn for $45.(K bed plus complimentary breakfast) very close to the Mall it says though I have no idea if being "close to the mall" is a good area down there. Is that anywhere close to Cheddar's? I'm not sure I'd use hotwire IF you're traveling alone or trying to get in a particular area. There were several on orbitz extremely reasonable, but it would take someone from the area to look at those and recommend which would be closer to the festivities.
