I have now finished my 6 mth dr. supervised diet, and we have faxed everything to the insurance co. and are waiting on a reply. Please say a prayer for me that things will speed along. However I have just learned that my surgeon now offers the Lap Band, I didn't have that as an option several months back. Any feedback on the pros and cons of RNY vs Lap? But then again once the info has been sent to the ins. co. are you even able to change types of surgery?

Once big question is whether or not your insurance will cover the lap band. Mine would not. You may want to give your insurance co. a call. I personally have been pleased with the RNY. The waiting was the toughest part for me! Hugs, Becky

Congratulations Donna on getting through your 6 month diet. I was just informed that I need to do one as well. It's so depressing! As for the Lap Band or RNY. Both have their risks and benefits. I personally prefer the RNY, my insurance wont cover any kind of Lap surgeries. It just depends on what is best for your body. I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy approval. God Bless, Tiffany.
