questions to Dr. Duncan's patient

Does anyone know if there is going to be a support group meeting in Lawerenceville for the month of December. Thanks for your help Dawn

Are you talking about the Wings Around Atlanta meeting, which is usually the third Saturday of the month?? Which was held at the Eastside Medical Center, it is now held in a different location. This month we are not holding a regular meeting, but will resume in January. Debbie J Duncan patient 01-14-02 lap-rny 01-15-02 leak repair surgery (non smoker, non steroid taker) 01-29-02 surgery to see if I had another leak, NO thank goodness SEVERE COMPLICATIONS!!! 45 days in ICU, 33 days kept alive via ventilator 30 days in a rehab hospital, had to learn to walk again Now one happy girl.........LUCKY to be alive

I'm sorry all didn't go as smooth as you would have liked it to go. I don't want to sound rude. But I really didn't want to know about your mis-hap I just wanted to know about the support meeting, and I am fully aware of the risk involved with the surgery. There just one thing I don't get; at the end of your profile you said you were happy, so why would you post such a negitive post to someone who has not had the surgery? With no picture or real profile history, I wonder if you have had the surgery at all! Let me ask you a question? WHAT WAS YOUR PURPOSE FOR YOUR POST?

Dawn, I don't know about the support meetings..SORRY I did just want to tell you that I really don't think that she meant it as a negative post. She has responded to some of my posts, and she has given me the same info. She may not even know that you have yet to have the surgery. Good luck with everything!!!! Cathy Martin

The purpose for my post was to answer your question, I am a Duncan patient and I put my signature at the end of every post. I am a member of Wings and have been, since before my surgery, yes, I had surgery. Wings is a wonderful group that you would benefit from being a part of. Lots and lots of information, good and bad. My mis-hap as you call it, was life changing for me and my family and believe it or not, because I talk about what happened to me, changes have been made in Atlanta practice that benefit those who have come behind me. There is nothing negative about my post, everything listed happened to me............EVERYTHING! The fact that you took offense to it can never change the facts. I post my information so that those who come behind me can see what can happen, if you decide to close your eyes, that is your choice, but NEVER question my honesty. I hope that you NEVER have to go through what I went through and I pray that your surgery is uneventful.......mine was not. Good Luck to you

I have no intentions of closing my eyes to the down side of things that could go wrong with surgery, and I am sorry that I got upset. However, I am not sorry for protecting myself or my interest. I have been on this site on and off since Feb. of early 04, and I have seen and heard some very bad things from people who were just playing around with other people's life. So I didn't know how to respond in any other way.(defend and protect). So if you would please forgive me for putting you on the spot, and challenging your word.
