My insurance company wants information regarding my 6 month diet I am going have my Dieticain write a letter regarding my 6 month supervised diet. What do you think I should have her write in her letter? I don't want to screw this opportunity up. Please help.

Sheila, my insurance wanted the same except from my PCP documenting 6 months of "supervised weight loss". It's kinda funny because they don't pay any benefits for "supervised weight loss" so it was coded under "diabetes type II" which you know treatment includes diet, exercise, medication, and supervision. What's funny is that they wouldn't consider that as a "supervised weight loss" because I wasn't going to the MD specificially for a "supervised weight loss program". What saved me is that I had been with my surgeon for over 2 months and they accepted their files as "supervised weight loss plan"....weird!! They just wanted history of what I tried in the past and what I've been doing for the last 6 months. I didn't really lose a whole lot of weight, maybe 10lbs, but it was an attempt which yo-yo'd. They also wanted to see that I had been "counseled" by a dietician on the proper diet. Good luck Cindy
