Susan don't settle for RNY if DS is in your heart! Me and at least 4 other state employees on here that I know of are travelling to North Carolina and Tennessee to get our DS. We are carpooling to Dr. visits, and sharing info to try to make it easier on each other. I think it is worth it. Pray about it and make sure you're doing the right thing. I know money, time, and inconvenience is a big factor, but think about how you'll feel about your decision in 10 years???
UHC shbp will cover DS w/ Dr. Maynard in Conyers, but you'd have to wait for open enrollment next year? He only does open though. Depending on your situation, it may be worth the wait.
Zabs and Izzy started a DS support group. If you can make it try to come to the next meeting.

anything you'd like to share : Two new grandchildren 2/18/09 & 2/25/09. Want to get healthier to be around to watch them grow-up- Diabetes-Sleep Apnea-High Cholesterol. Married 31 years - great husband - two children - one miniture daschuand-Willie.
Working on getting approved by insurance - 3 more months of counselor/support mtgs. Probably going to use Dr. Scott in Rome(my family lives in Rome-no one in South Georgia approved). I am looking so forward to this. Thanks for all the information.
