PCP Needed

I am to through with my PCP office. 1st My Doctor left the practice 2nd I never get to see my new Dr. I always see the NP who I discussed WLS with and I had to tell her about the surgery types and she was NO help 3rd I called to set an appt bc I needed my EKG and the woman "Peg" was a rude Hog and very ignorant and 4th and the icing on the cake I get a message from a Ghetto fabulous Heffer today and she was like if you dont show up to your appt we GONNA charge you 25.00(we GONNA???) how unprofessional and declasse'. So I am in need of a new PCP hopefully one who knows about WLS and how to care for a patient afterwards. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. PLEASE any PCP suggestions will be Greatly appreciated.

So sorry you're going through this!
I can't be any help in this one because I have Kaiser and use their doctors.
I can't remember what part of town you're in. (Sandy Springs?)
Maybe check with a support group in that area and see who the people in the group use.

As much as I complained about Kaiser when I had it when I worked for DFCS and Marriott you dont't miss something until it's gone, BOA only offers AETNA now and I just kept my doc from when I had BCBG last year figured it would be easier since I was having surgery, shoulda found a new doctor is it too late??

I love my pcp Dr Deveranez, but she is in Stockbridge.

I suggest posting this question on Dr. Smith's Yahoo board. Eventhough you don't want him to do your surgery, that board may be a good source for local DS patient support. They welcome anybody. I have been a member of that yahoo group for a few years.

Will you be needing your pcp to write a clearance letter? Send medical records, etc? If so, you may want to stick with the one you have at least until you get your approval.

I dont think I need a clearance letter from my PCP I thought I did that is why I stayed with my PCP by the way knows NOTHING about WLS. My previous Doctor got me on this path but seems she never wrote it in my chart or the PA was just to dumb to understand if she did. I am so heated, BUT bc I have AETNA and they require me to do a 3 month Surgeon/NUT supervised thingy I think that nixes the letter.

sorry I don't know of anyone on your side of town. Just get out the physician directory and call a few numbers to see what kinda vibe you get.

What area of town do you stay in? I'm way in douglasville. Just got a new PCP and he'a all for the surgery (That is, until he finds out I did NOT pick his buddy Dr. Smith - too busy for a seminar? then you have enough business and obviously won't miss my big butt or Aetna!).

I have an @$$h*le, therefore I have an opinion. or two... or forty.
