Cinga shbp Members New Info??
I spoke with Pam my case manager a whila ago. She informed me of new info they posted on the web on the 17th.

As far as I can se there aren't any changes except the support group checklist has been added. You will need to download this and send it in w/ your paperwork.
If your surgeon had called previously and got requirements, you may want them to call again, to see if anything has changed.
Please keep everyone else in the loop wth any changes, new info, barriers, you encounter. There are still a few of us waiting for approval. I know it seemed like everyone except you got approved all at once, but there are more of us still waiting with you.
If it were not for all of us banding together on this, people who are now blessed to have their surgery dates would still be fighting for their approvals.

And I think only 3 of us SHBPers have received approval so far. Just to note Brenda H. has her surgery today. I suspect her sister, who isn't very active on OH will inform us of her progress.

Several other people have posted they are trying to find a support group in middle GA too. Not sure if anybody ever found one. I thought there was one somewhere in Macon.
1. Call all your surrounding hospitals and gastrologists to see if they know of any groups.
2. See if your surgeon has an online group, maybe you can do it by webcam?
3. Start a group yourself!
4. Get a friend to fill out the form for you and cheat. Besides what determines a support group?? A group is 2 or more people right? So, if you meet with a couple of friends and talk about wls isn't that a support meeting? I know I'm playing devil's advocate, but Cigna has really put us through s**t
I guess what you do would depend on your time limits. if you are close to submitting for approval I would go with option 4 and wouldn't stress over it.
You really should consider starting up a group down there. A lot of people in your area need a group. I would be lost without my support group and meet n greet buddies.
