NOT LOSING ENOUGH
I DONT MEAN TO BE UNGRATEFUL. BUT IM 10 MONTHS POST OP. I HAVE ONLY LOST 70 LBS. AT FIRST I LOST 30LBS FAST THEN ITS BEEN LIKE FOUR LBS A MONTH. I TRY TO GET IN MY PROTEIN AND MY CALORIES ARE BELOW 1500. I CAN BARELY EAT MY SMALL MEALS. I FIGURE I'LL HAVE LOST 78 LBS AT A YEAR. I WONT REACH MY GOAL WEIGHT FOR 2 YEARS. THIS IS REALLY DISAPPOINTING. EVERYBODY SAYS THAT BY LOSING SO SLOW I'LL KEEP IT OFF BETTER. I JUST FEEL LIKE A FAILURE. I WAS EXPECTING TO BE CLOSE TO MY GOAL BY I YEAR. I STARTED AT 285. IM AT 215 NOW I WANT TO BE 160. ANY ADVISE. I USUALLY GET IN 1000 CAL.60GR.PR.
Are you doing any exercise? Also, what TYPE of surgery did you have? Some types don't lose as fast as other types. I had a RNY and at 6 months I had lost 88 pounds. At one year I was down 110. It slowed down quite a bit near the end. Right now I am at goal and am coming up on my 5 year anniversary.
Don't be hard on yourself. You are doing great. I think maybe upping your protein might help. I usually try to get about 1200 cals and between 70-80 grams of protein in a day. I also do not do hardly any snacking and I do not eat ANYTHING after 8pm. Those things really help me.
Does this help at all?
