Is anyone familiar with Dr. Scott or Floyd Hospital in Rome?

Does anyone know what his requirements are?

United Health Care(SHBP) has added them to the approved list.

Thanks

When did they add Dr. Scott to the approved list? I just asked the nurse yesterday and she said they haven't heard back from UHC yet on their application. As far as Dr.Scott, I really like him. That is who I want to do my surgery if they get approved by shbp uhcl. Dr. Scott has done my gallbladder and a hernia repair. He requires you to go to a nutrionist. I think that is the only extra thing beyond what our insurance is requiring. Blood work is required. The cost for the nutritionist visits is 305 paid up front.

I talked with Faith, my bariatric nurse coordinator, yesterday and she looked it up and said they were both approved.  I hope she knows what she is talking about because I just made an appointment for the seminar 5/12.  When I spoke with Ginger this morning she was not aware they had been approved.  I told her that I was told yesterday they were approved and Floyd was approved.  I don't mind seeing the nutritionists.  Is this something the insurance would reimburse us for?

I was so happy because my family lives in Rome and it would be better for all of us to be in Rome and not Atlanta.

Do you have a bariatric nurse coordinator?  How far into the process are you?

Good Luck!!

Faith is my nurse also. I am 4 months into the process. I have had my first visit with Dr. Scott and I have been to the nutritionist seminar. I have to go to my first one on one visit with the nutritionist in a couple of weeks. I don't know if the insurance will reimburse us or not for the visits, but I am going to ask. Dr. Scott also requires a liquid pre op diet for two weeks before surgery. I think the cost of this is around 100.00. I think I will call Faith this evening and see if she tells me the same thing. I hope she is right because I didn't want to go to Atlanta. I live about 30 miles north of Rome in Menlo. Dr. Scott and Floyd is so much more convienent. Also, I am used to him too.

I have not met Dr. Scott personally but from my understanding he is an excellent surgeon and comes with very high recommendations.  My PCP is with Harbin Clinic as well as several of the other appointments I have had have been with Harbin Clinic.  They are great and very prompt in their responses to anything you need.
