Support Group In Conyers , Ga.

Does anyone know of any support groups in Conyers . I just had the gastric on 2/20/09 by Dr Titus Duncan and i didnt want to go far if i didn't have to . Or if you know one close to Conyers please let me know . Thank you April

Dr. Maynard has a goup at Rockdale Medical Center, also in Covington. His next meeting is march 19 6:00 pm. His practice is Samba Bariatrics. Google his website for more info.

HEY LASHELLE, I THINK SHE IS LOOKING FOR A RNY SUPPORT GROUP MEETING. BECAUSE DR. MAYNARD GROUP DO NOT TALK ABOUT RNY AND IT WILL NOT BENEFIT A RNYer AT ALL.. JUST A HEADS UP TO YA GIRL. IT'S ALL ABOUT DS THERE! AND I LOVE IT!!!!LOL

PS. SO YOU WILL BE THERE ON THE 19TH LASHELLE? I KNOW I WILL BE THERE WITH BELLS ON!!!

Yes, I'm planning on it. I would think he would welcome anybody to his meetings. Even if you have the rny, you'd have some of the same concerns post-op. Malabsorption, restriction, ets. PLus it's always good to get out and meet new people. I can't imagine them turning anybody away because they don't have the DS. He's just not that type of person

Are you coming to the meet n greet Izzy? It's on the southside, so I'm gonna be mad if you don't.

PS. LASHELLE , I KNOW DR. MAYNARD SURELY WILL NOT TURN ANYONE AWAY, BUT IT'S REALLY NOT RNY FRIENDLY THE WHOLE TIME. IT NOT BASHING RNYers BUT A RNYer MAY NOT BE VERY COMFORTABLE THERE.

I'll be there to welcome you too. I'd rather see a rny'er go to a DS meeting, than no meeting at all.

I thought Dr. Maynard did rny too?

I know he focuses on the ds, but thought he did both?

Hi April,
There is a support group the first Tuesday of each month in Conyers at the American Legion. It is Dr. Celio Burrowes group and ALL are welcome. I am having my RNY on March 17th,,,,,,,,,wish me luck!

BTW, I live in Covington and work in Conyers.

They meet at 7pm the first Tuesday of each month. Angie Babb is the facilitator and she is the greatest!!

My surgeon is Dr. Celio Burrowes and my surgery will be at Atlanta Medical Center. I'm sure I will have LOTS of questions in the future!! Thanks, Patti
