THIS RESTAURANT WAS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY MY SISTER. SHE HAD AN AWARDS CEREMONY FOR HER SORORITY HERE. IT'S ORGANIC, DIET FRIENDLY, AND GOOD, SHE SAID EVEN THOUGH THE FOOD IS "ORGANIC" IT'S EXCELLENT. THE PRICES ARE ALSO REASONABLE. MOST MENU ITEMS ARE $15 OR UNDER. THERE IS ALSO FREE PARKING. (YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PARK AT ATLANTIC STATION). THEY WERE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE HER GROUP OF ABOUT 30 PEOPLE. THEY WERE ALSO ON FOOD NETWORK! THEY EVEN HAVE A GOOD JUICE AND SMOOTHIE MENU FOR POST OP MEMBERS. CHECK OUT THEIR MENU AND WEBSITE AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. [email protected]

Looked at the website, very interesting menu indeed. Though I would caution about the smoothies and juices you suggested for post-ops. Juice in general has an awful lot of sugar, and while the smoothies are mostly fruits, and it's "natural" sugar, it's still an awful lot of sugar there too.

I figure the post-ops will know this, but as pre-ops we really need to start thinking this way.

:-) THE MENU STATES THEY USE A HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE TO SUGAR. i'M SURE THEY WILL MAKE ONE WITH NO SUGAR IF YOU REQUEST. I THINK IT WILL BE NEAT TO TRY SOME NEW FOOD THAT I HAVEN'T HAD BEFORE.

I must not have explained what I was trying to say right. I saw they use Stevia (or whatever that new sugar alternative is called). But, fruit has A LOT of natural sugar. Go to the grocery store and pick up any juice that is 100% juice, you'll see. Over the summer, my aunt and cousin came for a visit. I tried to pick up juice for my cousin to drink and ended up buying Mott's for Tots juice (specifically for toddlers...my cousin is 11) because it had the least amount of sugar...and even that was 11 grams or so per serving! WAY to much sugar...

MY ENDOCRINOLOGIST IS ALWAYS TELLING ME NOT TO DRINK JUICE BECAUSE OF THE SUGAR TOO. I GUESS HAVING IT IN MODERATION WON'T HURT, UNLESS IT WILL CAUSE DUMPING.

Moderation is the key to everything around here!

As far as juice causing dumping? Since everyone is an individual and no 2 people dump on the same exact things, we'll just have to find out. Personally, I'm not much of a juice person. I'd rather get my calories from somewhere else.
