Dr Hart
Can anyone tell me if they have had an experience with Dr Hart. I had decided on a DR and have been called and told by his insurance dept that I was not covered after confirming it myself. I called my insurance yet again and they told me that is was but had to be a medical necesity (duh). Is this a sign?? I did learn that I was only covered 60% with Dr Champions office so maybe it is. Anyway Dr Hart is in my network at 80% so maybe its time to reconsider drs... rrrrrrrrrrrr What do I do? Advice? Its not all abou the money.. I do want a good surgeon!! Help! Has anyone used Dr hart. Opinions? Thanks!
Hi Ginger,
Although I did not have Dr. Hart, I used Dr. Johson who is his partner at Atlanta Bariatrics. Dr. Johnson was great. My surgery went great, no complications or anything of that nature. He has done 3 of my friends as well and we all were good to go.
I like Dr. Johnson he is a quiet guy with a lot of knowledge. I loved the office staff as well. They were all great, although they get extremely busy but they do take care of everything.
I think I met Dr. Hart one time and he was a very nice guy as well. I've heard nothing but great things about him as well. Everyone at Emory Hospital spoke VERY highly of him
I wouldn't change a thing about my surgery or the dr. office I picked. Best decision of my life.
Thanks!! I just got off the phone with his office and they seemed very pleasent and easy to work with. What I thought was interesting that unlike most of the other drs offices they do not require a payment upfront/deposit. So just thought it was odd but a good odd. They do seem to do things a bit different. This could be a good thing! I am going to a new patient siminar next Thursday so hopefully I will learn more then and make a final decision. Thanks for your help! Wish you the very best!!

Yeah I noticed they were very different as well, but in a good way. I went through the process before with a different surgeon and it was horrible. The office would lose everything and the people were rude. It seemed like they just didn't care.
The experience with Dr.Johnson/Hart's office was totally different. The staff feel like extended family members.
I started my process in December and had my surgery in February so it wasn't very long at all!
Wish you the best of luck and keep me posted!!
I guess I would be an old timer here. Dr. Hart perfomed my RNY surgery 3 yrs ago and my tummy tuck 1 yr ago. I could not have asked for a better surgeon. From the time that I entered their office, I knew I was at the right place. I knew that my health care would be taken care of by one of the best in the business. When you meet Dr. Hart you will see that he is a very knowledgeable man with only his patients best interest in mind. He will not sugar coat anything for you and he will let you know that he expects you to do what it takes to make it sucessful. His office staff is top knotch at getting everything in order for you. They will work quickly to get you an answer from your insurance carrier.
I can not speak for others, but as for myself I am thankful for this Doctor and his dedication to his practice. If you should happen to choose this dr. know that you will be getting one of the best.
Thanks so much for your comments. Its nice to hear that you have been very happy with him knowledge and went back for more. I am getting very excited about meeting him on Thursday!! I am just so worried about getting the final approval. i have waited on this for soo long and dont want to get my hopes up too much but its getting hard not to! Im always willing to listen to good advice.
Thanks and have a great day!
