Hi Everyone
Hi there!
I have begun the process of GB surgery this past month. I am having Peacthree Baratrics doing the surgery. It will probably be Dr. Dobson or Dr. Rashid instead of Dr. Duncan b/c of his schedule. I have 3 more appts. to get out of the way next week and the following Monday and then I will be faxing all of my clearence letters to the office. Once I do that, about how long did it take for them to get the surgery date and such? My insurance approved me w/in 2 days so I know that shldn't be a problem. I sent all my original paperwork in on a Monday and received a letter stating I was approved and all the things I needed to do the following Thursday. I wasn't sure if their office is scheduling surgerys 2-3 months out or if it is quicker than that. It has been less than 3 weeks since I went to the original seminar and I feel like my head is spinning with how quick everything has fallen in together. I am in the Monroe area and looking for a support group if you all know of one. Thanks! Wendy
Wow. I wi**** had been that quick for me. My insurance required me to jump through hoops. But as far as Peachtree Bariatrics....it will be quick once you get your approval. From my approval to surgery was around 28 days IF you have everything done. Dr. Hobson did my surgery on Monday and I am doing great. I'm having a hard time sleeping (as you can tell being that it is 4:24 a.m. and I'm writing this), but it is only because I can't sleep on my back and I'm having a hard time getting comfortable because of that. Good luck and write me anytime. Cyndi

Hi Cyndi,
Thanks so much for writing me back. Congrats on your surgery!! How exciting for you!!
I have been so blessed to have the insurance I have and they haven't given me any grief over any of this. I have already seen my PCP doctor and given all the vials of blood needed yesterday! I am seeing the NUT on Tuesday, my Cardio doctor on Wed, having my IVC Filter installed on Thursday and seeing the PSY on the following Monday. After all of that, I am done! I will just have to wait a week for the PSY to fax all of the papers to the doctor and then wait for them to set everything up. I am scared to death, to be honest. Like I mentioned before.....this is happening WAYYYY too quick.
I was thinking it would be a 6-8 month process and from start to fini**** might end up being 1 - 1/2 months. I am having a hard time getting my mind to wrap around all the changes so quickly. Do you know if there are any support groups on our side of town? I live in the Monroe/Loganville/Snellville area.
Thanks so much and I pray you have a blessed day!!
Wendy
