Hi i just had my psychological eval and the therapist suggested i start eating just what i will be able to eat for the long haul - would someone who is a veteran tell me just exactly when what and how much I can have? Thanks

I am fairly new myself..my surgery just 5 weeks ago. Some of the things you will have to do: *Look for the protein count on the food you buy. You will need 70-80 Grams daily. *Look at the sugar content. Less then 5 Grams per serving. *Eat on a smaller plate and use a smaller fork and baby spoon so you take smaller bites. *Chew all you food (small bites) slowly and to applesauce consistency. *DO NOT drink with meals. *Drink at least 64 oz of water daily. NO soft drinks or caffeine. *Stop drinking 30 minutes before meals and resume 45 minutes after eating. There are probably some I am missing but this is a good start. Most of all Welcome to the best journey of your life Mary. Keep us informed as to how you are doing. Pat
