I would first like to invite you all to my Blog, which I maintain on Myspace... http://www.myspace.com/alanfork I will have new pics up soon!
Well folks... I am well on my way. I had a visit with Dr. Duncans office, Lori Wood talked with me, and did all my vitals. My blood work is awesome, everything checks out...EXCEPT.
My Iron, which is 14... now its spose to be 15+
Lori told me, that the general consensus is, that if your not feeling down tierd or lifeless then for men 14 is ok... however, she recommended I take an iron supplement and drink prune juice... BLECH! How about some nice Liver n Onions PLZ!
Lori said, that its important with women who menstrate to take the iron to get it over 15, but for men its not as important, she wanted it higher, but its not something If I am not feeling tierd to worry about.
Loose skin galore, wow... I thought I would avoid this, but I guess not... I have some major loose skin in the lower tummy region and legs, not so much in the arms and not the face, I will post some new pics of me, WOW do I look different, so much so I can even tell. I do plan on plastic surgery in another year or two.
I am not far from my goal of 250, and man is that a big difference from my original 401. Yep, 151 horrible numbers lost....when I nail it, I will dance.
I was out with the kids, and I found my self running... RUNNING!?!? Yeah I was actually moving faster than a trot....and...get this, I loved it! I am going to get my bike fixed and start riding that sucker...
I want to get something clear about people who just had the surgery, I want to stress something to you, something you may realize but won't admit, so I am just going to call you all out.
You are GOING to cheat, and WILL gain weight because of it. You are probably shaking your head, or denying it... but I am going to tell you why, and how to avoid it when it DOES happen.
Why did we gain wieght, hundreds of reasons, but I can promise you one thing, its all because we ate, when we was NOT hungry. This surgery will force smaller meals, NO doubt but after six months, after a year, you can and will cheat. So, what will you find your self doing... Grazing, eating when you are NOT hungry.
My wife suggested a very good idea, which she does 99% of the time... 1% is when she says I am on the computer to much, and thats debatable. ;) Is keep a food log, for me I dont like to write, especially when I am eating so what I do is keep a mental check list... 4 meals a day, 2 snaks.... and if I am gonna cheat, make it a healthy snack, like...fruit, which I can eat the mess out of, and it satisfies me.
I would like to thank my wife, she has been through this emotional and physical struggle with me, and has appreciated and cheered me on the whole time. So thank you Barb, you are beautiful, strong and full of the confidence I sometimes lack!
