Hi, I am new. I had my gastric bypass on Thursday and came home from the hospital on Friday. All went well with the surgery. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of the gas feeling in my chest? I actually feel it more when i drink crystal light. I not sure if I am drinking to fast. Any suggestions?

You could be drinking too fast, try slowing down just a little. I was only able to take small sips at a time and eat ice chips or your water could be too cold for you, try drinking it at room temp and see if that helps as well. I wish you the best on your NEW JOURNEY.

Thanks so much! I tried that and it seems to have helped.

Hi Michele, I see that you live in Loganville, I really do not think that you live too far from me. What you said about your mother that is jsut really with that in mund I know that you are really going to be successful at your WL, Me I'm having some problems with finding prople to talk to and how they feel about it. I'm really glad though that I had my surgery even though I paid cast for mine. I went to Alabama and had it done and I'm really happy. My thing is I really do not understand why there are still people out here think that having this operation it is just a coop out for us. But as far as me it was the best decission I ever made. I would like to learn more about you and maybe one day we can meet over lunch or something.

I understand how you feel. My insurance did not pay either, but I realized that it was time to take care of myself. Alot of people don't understand that this was our last resort. And as long as you say that it is the best decision you ever made, that is all that matters. My mom says the same. I would like to learn more about you as well. The only other person I know that has had the surgery is my mom. I have not yet attended any support meetings yet since I am not supposed to drive until my after my first doctors visit on Friday.

You likely had the surgery lap? Usually to get the gas moving out, you need to move around as much as possible. That feeling will start to ease up, sometimes it will take a few days to subside. Be sure to drink slowly and sometimes for some folks if it's too cold it might bother you, just try some different things to see what works for you. Drink slower, maybe something warmer and be sure not to drink too much at one time. Amy
