Are there horror stories?

Many of the post I have seen have been very positive and supportive of the weight loss efforts. Does anyone know of any horror story associated with any of the surgeries; especially the duodenal switch? I know that there is a possibility of death around the 1% range.

Hello Lee. A little bird told me you were over here and I came lookng for you. I am Jamie S. I had a DS on 08/23/06. I did lots of research before I decided what surgery would be best for me. There are horror stories for every procedure. There is not one WLS that is horror story free. But me, I have been blessed. I had a good surgeon ( the best in my opinion) and good post op care. I am following my Dr's instructions and have lost 61 lbs and feel wonderful. Have you taken a look at the DS message board yet? I think it would be good for you because everyone three has had the DS and you would get a lot more responces there than here. But hey, I am a GA girl. Jamie S
