What reason did they give for denial? If you feel the reason was unjust, then most definitely APPEAL IT! Don't take no for an answer! Best of luck! Kristi

Hi Sherry, I also had BCBS ppo and had been denied 3 times in (2003) I constantly sent appeals. I work with insurance so I am familiar with how they tend to want alot of info. Just make sure that you find out why they denied then try to send that info and have your wls, primary doctor, orthopedic doctor... any one that can support your medical need for the surgery send any kind of documentation. Try not to get discouraged, I know how I felt everytime I called them or received a letter in the mail. Keep on top of it and try to be as nice as possible. You may try to get someone's name in the precert department and call them every couple of weeks to check the status of the request, but don't "bug" them. My momma always said it is easier to get bees w/ sugar than it is w/ vinegar. Finally after a year my husband and I both got approved!!!! It was worth the effort. May God bless you and if it is not approved now it may just not be in His timing. Georgina
