I am so ready to take this as a sign from God that I shouldnt have this surgery!!! I have been finished with EVERYTHING I need to submitt to ins since MAY! But Medicaid made some changes and the groups finally got ready for submittal... NOW I find out that although Amerigroup has Dr Duncan listed in network..Atlanta Medical Center isnt and thats the only hospital Duncan uses. They say they are in negotiations. Please I need some words of advice or hope because I'm very close to saying screw it! Thanks, Angie

Hang in there girl....I had to fight like hell to make this surgery happen for me so I know you can do it!!! It is well worth the tears and anger. Don't let them tell you no...keep going until they say YES!!!! If you have to change surgeons then do it...if you have to use another hospital then do it. Make it happen girl cause you DESERVE it!!! Thanks Shree, I' m just a little ...well alot discouraged. I have put too much time and energy into making this happen, so I will pray that they decide to put Atlanta Med Center into their network and if not I will find out my options. Again thanks for your kinds words and remember me in your prayers. Take care Angie

I so understand. When I first started this journey, I found a doctor, did all the paperwork and the hospital the doctor was working out of decided not to do bariatric surgery anylonger. So I found another doctor, got the preops, clearences, specail testing done, was all set except for a date- Medicare changed the rules. Of course the place where the doctor is now working from is not certified as a Center of Excellence yet- so still no surgery. Will be a year at the end of this month when I first started this trib. I am hoping the hospital gets final certification this month so I can be healed up before winter. I really feel for you.

Don't give up. It is worth the battle and the fight. Many of us have it easy and everything works out but many of us have to fight to get approved. We have been there and we understand. Take care and keep us posted. Tami
