I'm taking medication for my thyroid but my weight loss has completely stopped!! I've lost 170 lbs. and have 40 more lbs. to go before I'm at goal! Has anyone else been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism POST-surgery? If so how did you continue to get the weight off? I've been counting calories, carbs, protein, and sodium intake! I walk 30 to 60 minutes per day and weight train for about 30 minutes. I also drink 64 ounces of water or other no-cal drinks every day! So, what gives? I didn't come this far to not make it to my goal weight! HELPPPPPPPPPPPP! (I'm 16 months Post-op.) Thanks! Cheryl G.

Sorry, Don't know what you do. I have that now; have for 12 years. Hoping to have surgery in Dec 2006. Been on meds since then when diagnosed. You seriously need to talk to your doctor. Should go for a sonagram as well, be sure you have no nodules on your thyroid. Good Luck! - Bren L. from NY.

Hey Cheryl.... I have had hypothyroidism before surgery and have been on meds and will be for the rest of our lives...my weight loss has been slow the whole time...I was told this from the beginning it would be...not sure that it is medically proven but a lot of people told me that it seems to be slower....so we just need to continue to work and work at it and don't give up.....how long have you been on a standstill? Mine goes off and on and off and on....maybe shake up your exercise a bit.....if you find out anything more, please let me know... Take care, Ann
