PS Woes
Well. I was supposed to have Breast Aug/Lift and thigh lift on Monday. Got to the OR, and they started anesthesia, when all of a sudden they stopped the surgery. Apparantly my heart rate dropped to 36, and they gave me meds to bring it up , but it then dropped to 31. The anesthesiologist wanted to be careful, and would not let the surgery go on. So off I went to a cardiologist to get clearance. After a couple of hours there, and a stress test the next day, the cardiologist has approved this. However, I cannot get a two week stretch off of work again until next year. So I am biting the bullet and getting the breast Aug/lift on August 30. Will worry about the thighs next year.
Got alot going on in my life right now, so this may be a good thing. I am going to keep positive, and remember that things happen for a reason.
Maureen,
I am using Dr Nakano (Prima Worx) in Duluth on Peachtree Ind Blvd. He came and spoke at ObesitySolutions weekly meeting about a month ago. I was attending with one of my girlfriends. Met with him a week later. There are two surgeons in the practice, but he is the only one that performs PS on bariatric patients. Office was very professionally managed, and did not feel as though I was being rushed into making a decision. The only reason I am waiting till then, is because of the 18 month PS restriction by my WLS surgeon.
If it was not for that, and my body still shifting around (lol), I would have the surgery sooner. Remember, I cant do any of this during the first 3.5 months of the year. Probably have the LBL done in May or June of next year...cant wait for that to happen!!!
Call me sometime, and we can meet up somewhere in Dawsonville...I love to go shopping there...that is my new hobby !!!
Norma

First of all..HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How the HECK have you been??? Missed you!
I'm trying to get PS as well.. I got denied my first time through. The dr's office did a miserable job sending the supporting documentation, so I am working on an appeal.
I HOPE to have it done this year, but it's looking bleak, because this time of year is insane for me at work, but I've already met my out of pocket maximum on my insurance, so I'd REALLY like to do it where I don't have to pay all the co pays of 20%, etc.
May be next year.
Maureen, take care of you and I'll be thinking of you. Stay safe. I'd love to hear from you!!
Tami
