I am generally a lurker but just have to tell ppl who get it what a wonderful day my son and I had yesterday. We spent 8 hours at Six Flags and I went on rollercoasters without thinking about gravity vs. 315#'s, seat belts, embarrassment....Three ppl were escorted off the Cyclone because the belts wouldn't fit.....I quietly watched and remember my worst moment when my son was 2 when I took him to a fair and my mom went on all the rides with him because I couldn't fit. That was the beginning of my WLS journey. I am 17 months out, -120+ pounds, my surgeon is pleased, I wanted to lose 30#'s more but my PCP prefers 20#'s. I go anywhere (Chair Lift/Alpine Slide/horseback riding/rafting in Wyoming last month), and I fit in....the negative noise in my head is only 20% of what it used to be and most of that is loose skin issues........ This was the best decision I ever made...Thank you for sharing your stories and reading-Barbara

Hi there....I am at the beginning of my journey but I wanted to let you know that this article is such an inspiration to me as I am one of those people who used to LOVE riding the rides & was escorted off of one because I was too fat. I wanted to ride the ninja. I waited in line and finally got to a seat only to find that Ithe seat wouldn't latch properly. 2 employees decided to help by pulling (one from the top and one from the bottom) on the straps & still it was a no go. I was moritfied...I spent the rest of the day getting blisters on the bottoms of my feet and sitting around waiting for the rest of my party who was having fun riding the rides. Anyway, until now it wasnt financially feesible to have the procedure. I am so looking forward to my second chance at an active lifestyle. Thank you! :-)
