So happy to be back in Georgia!!!!

I was born in Atlanta, raised in Clayton/ Henry county. After i bought a house in Stockbridge met and married my husband and had two children we moved to Florida for almost a year. Plans didnt work out there so we have now moved back to GA. YEAH!! We did not sell our house in Stockbridge we rented it out, the lease is not up until the end of May, so we have been staying with my parents in Douglasville until we can move back to our house. I dream about it everyday, I can not wait!! I love Georgia so much better than Florida and am so so so happy to be back here!! I didnt really start looking into the surgery until i moved to Florida and nothing worked out there. Unfortunatley its not really working here either, so I am thinking about going to mexico to have it done with Dr. Joya. Anyway I am glad this messageboard looks pretty active. I would love to have some support so close to me!! Candy home sweet home!!

Hey Candy, I am glad you are back home too! I have lived in Georgia all my life. I was wanting to inquire about the Dr. in Mexico I got on his web site last night. Was it easy to schedule appt and etc. with him? Would like to know details of what you had to do. Thanks, Beth Northwest GA

Hi Beth! Which Doctor have you looked at? I am looking at Dr. Joya, www.drjoya.com I have not made an appointment yet, i am still waiting on the financing. But I have talked to the man there that does it and it really seems very simple. Pretty much as soon as you make your deposit or the whole amout, not sure, they will schedule it. They do send you pre-op papers and you do go on a 2 week liquid diet to shrink your liver. You have to find a doctor close to you for your post-op. I am very impressed with everything I have read about him and the hospital and its staff. I feel good about this decision. I am hopeing I will be aboe to go in the next couple of months! That is SO true Edna!! We were one block from the beach too. It is very pretty but it is not home!! And it is of course sososo very hot! And I am so big right now it's not like I could GO to the beach, I was afraid someone might try to push me back into the ocean !!!!! take care, Candy!

Hi welcome home!!! I am pre op and awaiting insurance approval at this time, but I too live in Stockbridge. The only support group meeting I have attended so far was at Atlanta Medical Center, but it was very helpful. Everyone on this board is an amazing support group themselves, I feel lucky to have found this site. Good luck and maybe we will meet oneday since we are kinda neighbors..lol Take Care Angie

Hi Angie! Thats funny because i just went to Atlanta Medical center for Dr. Duncans class. But i had to leave early because my kids were not settling down. I would love to meet you someday, my house is close to the wal-mart on 138/42. well i dont have long right now, i'll be back later!! candy

Hey Candy, i live in douglasville. Glad you came back to good ol' GA.. i was born and raised here in douglasville.. even thou we are looking at moving more out to carrollton area now, douglasville has grown sooo much! Welcome back home. I too grew up in Clayton County and currently live in Jackson and work my second job in McDonough. This board is a very active board and we actually have monthly gatherings each month. Look for posts on the board and try to make some of them. We have a great time together!!! Much ! Dee Dee

Thanks Dee Dee!! Thats good to know that ya'll get together! I would love to meet people from the boards! I had an ex-boyfriend that lived in Jackson while we were dating so I am familiar with that part of town. I also went to Griffin Tech twice in my life, and then would go to Jackson from there.
