I think Dr.McCormick at USF is great! 813-259-8700 He is at 2 Tampa General Circle across the street from Tampa General Hosp. Try him out, he is a great supporter of WLS.

I hope this helps some, Kristen Topic: RE: Roux en Y or VSG
Hi Bonnie,
My suggestion is to spend time on each board, research the surgeries and possibly most importantly, spend some time looking through the failed weight loss surgery pages. This is how I made my decision. I was impressed that the long term results for VSG rival the RNY without the vitamin malabsorption, intestinal rerouting, or complication rate. I will need to take NSAIDS throughout my life and the VSG allows that.
I hope you find the right surgery for you.

I am new to the Tampa Bay area and need to find a PCP who is an advocate or at least simpathetic to those who are seeking WLS.
I am trying to have all my information submitted to my insurance company as soon as possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck to you Sissy, and welcome back. Even if you can't make our real life support group meetings, you can always join our OH support group.

Cleveland Clinic is very good. I went there for a long time after my surgery but I find it too far for me (I live in Delray). But it is great. Here is a link to their events schedule:

Hi Steve,
I live in South Florida so I won't be able to come to your support group but kudos to you for coming back. Today is my first day back to OH as well. I find that as I let the support slip away, I let myself slip away too. So I will be backhere as well as on the RNY forum. I am also attending 2 groups in the next 2 weeks. Good luck to you!
