I am Donna, I live in Ocala with my hubby and 2 sons. I am waiting for a surgery date, hopefully next month. It sounds as though you did very well with the RNY. I'm sorry to hear about your thyroid cancer, are you getting treatments?
I won't kick your butt, but you worked so hard at losing 150 lbs. don't get side tracked. Get back on the wagon and stay focused. Did you reach your goal?
I'm happy to hear that yourDH will be coming home, hopefully he will be a good support system for you. If not give me a holler.

Working almost fulltime is trying at times but I am thankful I have a job!!!!!
My husband has been gone for 3 months and is inchicago. He is finally comming back home on Augest 10th. Cause I am flying up there to help him drive back!!!!!

You've done a great job this past year! Way to go! Now the hard part starts--maintenance. Well, a lot of folks say it is the hard part. I don't think it is if you have truly learned the new lifestyle by the time you get there. If you have made the changes necessary, then it is just stage 2....more of the same! We had this surgery to be "normal," right?? Well, normal people eat reasonable portions of healthy foods AND exercise! We have to do that too!

Hi Lea and congrats on all you have accomplished. My revision from band to RNY was just under 1 year ago (August is my surgiversary). I have lost a total of 151 lbs. and currently below goal weight at 138 lbs. I concur with your remark about the discrimination and totally believe had I not lost weight I would never have been given the opportunity for such a great job. They say that this is not really a discrimination that exists but those that have lived it know otherwise. Again you did amazing on your journey and thanks for the inspiration.
