I had surgery 10 months ago with Dr. Murr. It was the best decision of my life. He is the most qualified surgeon and his bed side manner is exceptional. You will be glad to work with him and his staff during this wonderful journey.

Wow, ty for this post! I was able to start the process of my surgery! Amazing! Dr. Murr is a professor at usf here in Tampa and also a director at Tampa General. I will be glad to get my surgery done by him and very gracious for your post it is veryyyyyyyy hard to find a surgeon in this area that accepts my insurance. Rachel

Hello everyone. I came accross this forum today trying to find a dr that will accept sunshine state health insurance. My regular doctor gave me a referal to have the surgery and im at a loss here trying to find a surgeon in my area. I noticed many of you posting dr's in other areas. If anyone knows one here in Tampa plssssssss let me know. Thank you, Rachel

Because of my insurance, I will have to go to Tampa or Ocala for RNY. My primary doc says Tampa is the better choice. I'd love to hear some glowing reviews of Dr. Murr before I make the final decision!

Have you tried Dr. Imman in Indiana for revsion? There are two doctors in Dayton area that do revisions. What do you want to be revised to?

What kind of revision are you looking at? You can PM me if you would like. I am a revison from lap band to DS with medicare A & B. I am so freakin happy with my revision that I can't hardly stand it.
I do know some good surgeons in OH and other places but I need to knew what you are looking for.

Well miracles happen. I had my DS December 23, 2009 with Dr. Greebaum in NJ. I was almost dead upon arrival. I did very well and my recovery was slow and rough but got better each passing day.
I am now 8-months post-op, have lost 121 pounds, my labs are perfect. I fitness walk 3-4 miles per day. Before surgery I could not hardly get out of recliner to go to bathroom. I could not stand more than 2 min without almost passing out. I was in full blown CHF.
I am so freakin happy with this DS. I look healthy and I feel wonderful and I still have 100 left to loose. OMG, I can't imagine how I will feel when the last 100 is gone.

Hi:
Just saw your message and I used Dr. Gordon. I had my surgery almost 3 yrs ago and then he was only in Clearwater. Now I think he is in Passadena Hospital also. He is really a great Dr. I had an RNY.
I highly reccommend them both.

Topic: 2 weeks after surgery
I am feeling great! I have had 3 "sick" spells but have made it throught it! I went by my Dr today and weighed and have already lost 25 lbs! I got back to work day after tomorrow. Just saying it was worth the 6 days of clear liquids before the surgery!
