Hey everyone! first question in a post here. Just got home yesterday and I have to change this dressing on the JP drain hole about 4 times now. Its not oozing different colors, and doesnt smell, so Im sure its not infected...but how many times do you change this dressing a day? and can anyone remember how long it drains for when you get home? Thanks! Melanie

I would say change it as much as you need to, depending on how quickly the gauze gets saturated. Then, when it stops, let it air out a little bit so it can heal. If it gets really bad, contact the surgeon's office and let them know. It shouldn't leak too much after surgery. I was in the hospital 6 days and they took it out on day 4, so it stopped by the time I left. So figure 2 days?

Melanie, Best wishes for a happy healthy new life! I changed the dressing about 6 times a day. I couldn't stand the oozing. I believe I did this for three or four days. Take care, Debbie
