OT~ MY HONEYMOON IS IN FLORIDA
OK, well compared to 6 degrees it will be like a sweatbox here for you
. It is currently 38 degrees outside and my heat is broken, so maybe I am a little sensitive about the cooler weather these days. Anyway, I know a lot of those guides are really good, they should give you some great info for your trip. There is SO much more to Orlando and Central Florida than the Big Rat (WDW) and Universal, so next time you come for a visit, you'll have to check out some of the places the locals go to.

That's why I came to this board. As Rachael Ray says...Ask the locals. They are the best sourse of information.
38º is a heat wave right now. I'd walk outside without a coat in that weather.
What is your daytime temps now and what are they predicting for next week? I am going down on the 29th.
Joanne
T-3 days and counting until my wedding
Lemme pull my doppler radar out of the back room and see what it says...
OK, it only predicts things until next Tuesday with highs between 50's and 70's and lows between the 30's and 50's. Hmmm, not very clear or informative. Seriously, it is supposed to warm up tomorrow then get cold again this weekend, not sure what the 29th is gonna look like yet, since I have only seen reports out for the next 5-7 days. Better check back with us later this week.
Cold is very different down here. I lived in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan for years,I also travel to south of Buffalo yearly. I can run outside in a light jacket up there in 38 degrees and below with wind and I never complain about the cold. But the minute i****s 60's down here I am freezing and feel like I am dying.
We go to Disney everyother weekend with the kids, gotta love annual passes...we eat in the park at the cafeteria style resturants. We went the other night to MGM and ate cheap there, I shared with my son. There are tons of resturants at Disney Crossroads and all down CR 535. Another thing it was 50's that night, I was wearing a sweatshirt and turtleneck
that was a mistake...winter jacket the next time. BTW it is because of the humidity I think, chills you to the bone.

When I first moved to florida we went to WDW every month. The cheap hotels have brochures for all the activities, but I found better coupons on the internet. One of the places that was pretty reasonable for dinner was the dinner show at Capone's. It was a funny gangster show about the days of Capone. go to this site:
http://orlando.about.com/cs/allsubjects/l/blspcl3.htm
go half way down and they show all the sites for dinner shows. The one for Capone's has buy one adult get one free coupons that you can print.
We also made it a habbit to eat at the Liberty Inn in WDW, it is a character dinner (all you can eat) about $20.00 per person but mickey, minnie, goofy, chip and dale are there you get individualized attention from the characters. I have great pictures from the dinners there. Better than waiting in line for pictures.
There are 100's of restraunts outside the parks. We used to eat breakfast early, eat a snack for lunch and dinner outside the park with the exception of one dinner in the park at Liberty Inn.
If you dare there is bungie jumping all over the place. If you like thrills go to Islands of Adventure and don't miss the spiderman ride. It is a 3 D roller coaster, It is awsome.
All the parks are beauteful at Christmas time, the lights, trees...
Have a great time, it is a great area to be a kid.
If you have military priviledges there is a MWR office at the Navy exchange that sells discounted attraction tickets. There is also a hotel that is run by MWR at WDW.
Look for "magazines" at the hotels and restaurants that are loaded with discount coupons. Remember the space center is only about 1.5 hours away from WDW and you might want to check out Cypress Gardens it just reopened. Have fun and just try to stay from anything that "touristy" particularly all the souvenir shops!!
