OT~ MY HONEYMOON IS IN FLORIDA
Hello Florida board!
I am getting married on christmas eve here in RI. On the 29th we are going to disneyworld for our honeymoon. We are on a VERY tight budget when we get there cause of the wedding. Please tell me of some great but inexpensive restaurants that we can go to. Eating in WDW is too expensive although we will splurge once or twice for lunch (cheaper than dinner)
Also, besides airboat rides (which we are doing) is there anything exciting to do there that is not in the hundreds of dollars? I wanted to fly the WWII airplane but that is going to be too much. So as you can see by the things we want to do (flying planes, airboat, racing, etc) that we are looking for this type of excitement.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your wedding! You are going to have a great time at Disney.
My advice would be to stay away from International Drive. It's very touristy and the prices are very high.
Your best bet are chain restaurants that you know (Chili's, Applebees, etc...). I don't live in Orlando (or the area) so I don't know of many local places.
Usually the hotel will have a folder with local places to eat in the room. Be sure to take advantage of the free breakfasts at the hotels too (providing that yours has one).
You would be surprised at Disney's prices. If you stick with the cafeteria style places, two people can get away with under $20 especially if one of you is post op! Believe it or not, they have some pretty darn good burgers in Fantasy Land!
As far as other things to do, I honestly can't remember what is out there other than the parks. Every hotel in the area has a huge display of brochures, so you are sure to get lots of information.
I hope you have a fabulous time!
I forgot about all the brochures that hotel and motels have. But my motel has me worried. Got a rating of one star by AAA. But it was cheap. $33 a night after my discounts. I couldn't pass that up. All we need is a clean bed to lay our heads cause we aren't going to be in the room much anyhow.

Hey Joanne,
I'm not from Orlando either, but in WDW, they do have some cafeteria style places to eat that are not too expensive. When my family went, we ate at a couple of places there for under 25 bucks for four people (2 kids and 2 adults). BTW, I will be in Orlando at the same time you are, I am visiting my family for New Years...we will also be going to WDW...maybe I'll see you there. BTW, Congrats on your marriage...May your love last for eternity!!!!!!

Joanne, the concierge at the hotel where you're staying will be able to help you out with great restaurant suggestions. I also don't live in Orlando, so I can't help you either.
Let me also apologize in advance for the cold weather you're probably going to have while down here. I put in an order for better and warmer weather, but have been told it's on back order!!!
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!!!

Congrats on your wedding. There are plenty of chain restaurants all around Disney, Kissimmee and I-Drive that offer you variety. You are smart to eat lunch at some of the Disney restaurants to avoid the outrageous dinner prices. If you go to Epcot, the night time laser show is always beautiful. If you stay on that side of town and want to see something different, go into downtown Celebration, it's adorable and lit up beautifully for the holidays and has several restaurants and shops. You could go to Barnie's for coffee and just walk around and not be disappointed, plus many of the homes there are decorated too. You can also go see the ICE display at Gaylord Palms which is supposed to be spectacular, not sure the cost to see that. If you want to see a true Florida beach, you can drive about an hour over to Canaveral Seashore (Titusville) and see a beautiful beach minus all the development, plus you can see the shuttle launch pad.
I hope you have a wonderful time, it's pretty cold here this week so dont plan on getting a tan
!

How cold can it be? it'f Florida. it is 5º here right now so anything is better than this.
I bought 2 books on disney. "Orlando and Disney For Dummies" and
"The Unofficial Guide to DisneyWorld". Both have great advice. That is where the lunch instead of dinner thing came from.
Thanks for all the info!
