Goal/Ideal Weight...
I posted this on the main message board, but wanted to get a litte input from my fellow Floridians as well.....
Hi All,
I just have a quick question/observation, and am wondering if I am the only one that deals with this. When someone says to you, "wow, your looking good, you don't need to lose any more weight", I say, "I still have about 10-15lbs to my goal", and then I get, "oh no, you'll be too skinny then or, you'll look sick". I then wonder, are they saying this, because I might weigh a little less than them or do I really look too skinny. Does anyone else here have this happen to them? I know that for me personally, I would still like to lose 10 more lbs. I have reached my original goal of 140lbs +, I now weigh 137lbs, and I think that 125-130 is reasonable for me....but some people in my life feel that I will be all skin and bones...please, with all this sagging and flapping skin, there ain't no way I'll ever be skin and bones (well, maybe the skin part, but not all bones)..............thanks for any input and letting me vent...........

All I can say is don't let anyone's comments sabotage your personal goals. What is your BMI? your BP? and lab? You want to be healthy.
I get those comments because it is true.....I do look skinny and I'm trying my best to stop losing weight. I never thought I would be skin and bones, either. I never anticipated it would be hard to "stop" losing. I have good energy though and my BP is perfect. I take my vitamins and I anticipate my lab this month to be as good as it was 3 mos ago.
Blessings,

It has been my observation that when some people make these comments they are often just trying to make small talk and don't really expect you to take what they are saying very seriously. I'd just think of a canned response like "Oh I never thought I'd hear that...or have that problem, etc!". ...and then just try to forget about it. Many people find that talking to someone about their wieght awkward and what sounds like an insult is often their way to trying to tell you that you look wonderful just like you are. Some people are just not good at getting their message across.
