Florida friends... where are ya?

Lookin for some new friends.. I usually stick to the surgery forums, but figured I would see if I could make some new friends that are local :0) Anybody out there?? I am from central florida, but a friend anywhere is nice!

I am right here in Melbourne, FL.  Waiting on surgery approval.  using US bariatrics in Orlando with Dr Marema.
Looks like you are doing well being on the losing side.

I am 5'4" and weigh 295.  Ya i know wow.  working to get ready for surgery, walking every day.  a mile in 20 minutes down from a block in 10 minutes.  trying the protein drinks and being strong.

I cant wait til i am on the losing side.

Hi Deb-
Good to hear from you.  I had my RNY on 4/27 at Flagler Hospital in St Augustine.
Dr. Marema performed the surgery.  Had a good experience.
Had my two week doc visit on Tuesday this week.  Lost 17 lbs.
No more puree food;  walking twice a day and doing pretty good i think.

Do you go to the support group for Brevard Cty?  at the Palm Bay hospital?
I live in Old Eau Gallie on the river.

Hi, I'm from Pasco County, Hudson to be exact.  I had my RNY 12/2004 at HCA bayonet Point.  I had some complications and required an emergency surgery 5 days later.  I almost died and it was a rough ride for several months but I have no regrets.  I lost 138#.  I recently regained 20# and am scared about it.  I'm looking for a friend that I can talk to about diet and rules and just someone who understands how RNY changes your life physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  My support group disbanded a few years ago and I really miss it.  Maybe we could talk sometime.
