HELP!!!!!!!!!

I JUST CALLED MY SURGEONS OFFICE TO LET THEM KNOW THAT I HAVE ALL MY PAPER WORK TOGETHER SINCE MY INS. IS BCBS. IT HAS TO BE TURNED IN AND HOPEFULLY APPROVED A.S.A.P BUT NOW THE COORDINATOR TELLS ME THAT THE SURGEON IS BOOKED FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR AND IF I AM APPROVED BCBS WILL NOT LET ME HAVE IT DONE AFTER DEC. EVEN THOUGH AN APPROVAL IS GOOD FOR SIX MONTHS SHE SAYS I WOULD HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER SURGEON TO DO IT BEFORE JAN. IF I AM APPROVED. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM PLEASE HELP. KIM

i wish you all the luck in teh world... if i were you.. i would look for a new dr... and make sure they have you on a canclation list that will allow you to fill in if someone backs out or a sugery gets cancled... good luck alexa

Kim, Ask your surgeon if they'll go ahead & schedule you asap but also put you at the top of their cancellation list. Just be ready to go at the drop of a hat. I have a friend whose doc called with a cancellation & she only had 3 days notice but she jumped at the chance to move her surgery up 2 months! In the mean time - try to find another surgeron that takes BCBS that could get you in before the end of the year. Call & ask BCBS what you need to do to switch surgeons - there may be more hoops to jump through if you change docs. Good luck! Vickie J.
