HELP! Problem Alert
Through a post on the main message board, I've discovered that my profile (and probably most of your's as well) are showing up on the website for a weight loss center in Kentucky. And not only is my profile available to the public, it includes my e-mail address!! However, it does NOT show the name of my hospital, which gives the impression that I am a patient of this weight loss center or in some way connected to them. I know NOTHING about this business and do not want to give that impression to anyone. I am more than willing to help inform the public about my wl journey, but I do NOT want to give a false impression that I'm a patient of or supporting in any way doctors and/or a weight loss center that I know nothing about.
If you want to check it out - go to the following web address & enter your OH member ID after the = in the address below:
ww.metamorphosis-weightlosscenter.com/profile.php?n=
Don't forget to add the other w at the beginning and your member ID at the end.
The way the website says to remove our profile from their site is to go to OH & update our profile to read "NO" on the question about it being available to the public. However, I'm concerned that if I do that, my friends at OH, that I want to be able to see my profile, may not be able to access it either.
I've written the OH tech help and asked about this problem. I realize the weight loss center's webmaster is OH, however, I don't believe that gives them the right to make our e-mail address public or to omit parts of our profiles that make it obvious I/we have no affiliation to unknown doctors and/or surgery centers. Also, with the epidemic of idenity theft in this country, I don't want my e-mail address available to just anyone!!
Check it out and let me know if you think I'm overly concerned.
