lap band surgury

I have been doing some research on lap band , has anyone on list had that done and what are any of your pro and cons on this subject

If you go to the top of the page and click on communities you can go to the page that toward the bottom says Surgery types. Pull down the menu and click on Lap Band. I try to check here and there.

Hi Pat, I was banded on 11/1. I so far am very happy with my band and have lost 30 lbs. total (10 since surgery) as of this morning. I have a minimal pain and had to only take a tsp. of children's tylenol when I came home from my one night stay at the hospital. I took no pain meds at the hospital. This is the best thing in the world for me. I have been on liquids since my surgery and am feeling absolutely great! I do not as of now have anything negative to say about it other than liquids are HORRIBLE! I really hate the broth. I researched and researched before I decided this. My husband has an RNY and it was just to risky for me. He has lost 200 lbs, in 4+ years and is doing fine with it. I just felt the death and complication rate was to much for me. There is another board call the floridabandsters in yahoo groups that you can try. They are all bandsters and we get together and support each other, etc. check there also, they will be glad to talk to you. Good luck with your research let me know if you have questions.
