I guess y'all can say I on the support group issue right now. Don't get me wrong, I like my surgeon's support group. However at the last two meetings we've had Plastic Surgeons. And the next meeting in Nov we're having another PS there. So I am kind of plastic surgeoned out yanno?? So I was wandering if you could chose any topic, doctor, or specialist to be discussed or visit your group meeting, what would it or who would they be?? Personally right now, I would love to have a sex therapist come in. I feel that sex changes after surgery.

I know exactly what you mean. The passion is ignited. 10X. I would choose a sex therapist too.

As a pre-op I'd love to hear from a nutritionist about vitamin supplements as well as good food options. If I truly knew how to eat properly maybe I wouldn't need to be trying to get approved for wls! Vickie J.

At my hospital back in Ohio they had 2 support groups...one for pre-ops-6 months and one for 6 months and beyond. Everyone was welcomed at either, but the topics were geared towards the needs of those specific groups.

Karee, I think i would choose a Psychologist or Psychiatrist, because there are so many mental issues that go along with this surgery. Fro per-op depression, to post-op depression, to eating disorders, and so on. I fyou have sex question sor issues and wish to discuss them, there is a sex before and after WLS forum on Obesity help. Just go to the main menu and click on other forums in the upper left hand corner, and scroll down to sex before and after WLS. This is a great group of people and they can really help you with any questions, issues, or problems, and yes for most people sex and sex drive changes after surgery. Good luck.

I would also like to hear from a psychologist/psychiatrist about overeating issues and why we do what we do and how to correct our "stinkin' thinkin'". I'm sure lots of people would be interested in a discussion on sex, but I just don't happen to be one of them. I would stay open-minded on anything anyone is interested though. What's good for one person may not be great for someone else, but I like the comaraderie. Jan

At the last meeting in Boca they had someone from nordstroms do a makeover and show clothes for the post-ops.. I was at the pre-op seminar part and did not get to enjoy it... but everyone seemed happy after.
