Pre-op appointment tomorrow at WISH Center anyone with info?

I 'm new here. My pre-op appaontment is tomorrow and I'm having trouble finding anyone with info and knowledge about my surgeon.(Richard DiCicco) at the WISH center in Tampa. Surgery is set for Nov. 10th unless I chicken out. Felling a little stressed right now. Maybe I'm too old for this! Any info will be appreciated.

Don't worry about being nervous. WE ALL get nervous during this journey. As far as being too old...........I am 50 and I just had the surgery 19 days ago and I FEEL GREAT. I haven't felt this good in 20 years. Just ask all the questions of your surgeon and research it all. Come to the board and ask anything cause these guys and dolls know it all and are anxious to help. Good luck on your journey. Carol

Thanks Carol for the support. I'm 57 and feeling pretty crappy right now, stopped taking meds for my poor arthritic knees yesterday just to be sure it was all out of my system before surgery. Riding my bike today was painful. It is great to hear you are feeling so well after only a few weeks , gives me hope! I'm just a little nervous about the pre-op appt. tomorrow. I'm sure the surgery is right for me just feeling not as sure as I would like about my doc. Still would like to hear from any of Dr. DiCicco's past patients. Thanks, Cindy

I'm 54 and 25 days post-op. I've not regretted it and I am doing fine. Betty

Thanks everyone, I feel better already. Just discovered this site today, hope I can come back with questions. I think Dr. DiCicco is relatively new at the Wish center. My surgury is a "redo" cause I had a gastric partition in 1984 (didn't work, the Dr. apparently didn't band the opening of the pouch so everything just slowed down a little and then dropped into the rest of my stomach) anyway because it's a redo both Dr. DiCicco and Dr. Dietrich will do the surgery. My surgery is schedualed for November 10th. We're going to VA and NC to visit our kids and grandchildren after my appt. tomorrow and will be back in time to do the pre-op prep on Nov.9th. I'll check back during the week to see how everyone is doing. I'm really excited to get on with this!
