What is the one task or responsibilty you have at work that you absolutely dread/procrastinate/hate doing but it has to get done???? Can you tell that I am dragging my feet today because it is time to do my least favorite task...taking escalated calls for 6 hours from credit card customers???!!! I need to get my six hours done by 9am Thursday morning. Blech!

I didn't read the question well, because I thought it was just any task and was going to say "laundry", but at work??? Hmmmm, let's see. I guess the occasional regional meetings are the worst. I really pretty much like my job and it's flexible enough that I can go and do what I want for the most part. Good luck with those calls, Amy! What ARE excalated calls anyway? Jan

For me it would be closing out the month to prepare the financial statements for the board meetings. It takes up all my time so my other areas, A/P and payroll, human resources have to be put on the back burner until I am done. By the way I am smoke free for 9 days now - yippee - Soon I will have to stop counting but I am so ecstatic - I cant believe I am doing it!!! That shows how much wanting something (surery) bad enough will motivate you Elaine

In freelance writing, I don't like "selling myself" . Writing and then trying to promote myself is a little hard for someone with a low self esteem. I am not good at tooting my own horn. Maybe with my new life I will be able to do better. Who knows I just might write that great novel now. Carol

Writing up reprimands for employees who aren't meeting the expectations or minimum requirements of their job. It takes up so much of my time and requires so much documentation and once it's done, they only have 45 days to show substantial improvement. But each day, their work has to be scrutinized and I have to fill out a paper daily for human resources documenting their progress. I usually end up working overtime (and I'm salaried, natch) if I have someone on reprimand. It's easily an extra 8-10 hours worth of work for me. I try not to put someone on reprimand but sometimes I have to and that's what I dread most. I used to work at a call center for DirecTV part-time temporary for about 4 months one time, I don't envy escalation calls. I don't know if the policy is still the same at DTV, but the customer had to ask to speak to the supervisor THREE times before the call was escalated. Lordie, by the third time they've asked to speak to a supervisor, they were so . I was always glad I was part-time temporary and had no ambition to be supervisor there... LOL I only worked there until I had enough money for a down payment on my car.

I absolutely hate going to work period!! I was born to have servants and tons of money... Ugh, unfortunetly reality is different and I have to work my behind off! Naaah, I don't mind working that much, I just would like to be able to work mommy hours. Like: 8:30 to 2:30, but I can't afford to do so! Have a great day everyone! -Flávia

OMG, do I remember escalation calls, and in person screaming guests! I worked for The Mouse for 5 years, and was sitting on the Hot-Seat at one of the resorts, everything went wrong and could not be fixed was directed to me, phone calls, in person front desk irrated guests, security, internal and guest related financial discrepancies, housekeeping X maintenance fights!! I had it all! Did it 6x week, even when I was 9 moths pregnant, after I had my baby, I left, never to look back! By the Way, they had the nerve to pay me less than I make now as a executive assistant! The things we put up with when we do not know any better... Flávia

My least favorite task at work would be dealing with abnoxious families. Most families are great... but when you get one they are horrible and make life miserable for all.
