Surgery date...finally!!!
Well...Dr. Rosenthals office fianlly called and gave me a date..September 23rd. Started with all this in January so it's about time. Funny story though, the surgeons office originally called last Wednesday and told me I had a date, August 1, 2005!!! I almost lost it with her. I couldn't even think of anything to say to her. All I kept thinking was,"This poor old body of mine won't last another year." Then she tells me to call her three months before surgery so I can do my pre-op testing which I had already done this past March in order to get approved. I couldn't believe this was happening especially after all the problems I had with them misplacing medical files I sent them twice.
I got off the phone and was hysterical. Poor Omar didn't know what to do. He said he was going to call the surgeons office and talk to him personally and ask him to explain why such a long wait. Dr.R and Omar have a really good relationship. I decided that I even though I didn't want to go to another doctor, I might have to and even this would be difficult because I'm on Medipass.
Anyway, late Friday afternoon, I get a call from his office. The lady said that she wanted to give me another date and that it was Sept. 23rd. She said she had been thinking about me and remembered how great Omar has done and she wanted to do something nice for me so we could get on with our lives. I thanked her and then thanked her some more. I was so HAPPY! Omar never had a chance to call Dr.R .
So..I guess in 4 weeks I begin my new life. I'm nervous but that is to be expected. Sorry this is long but I wanted to share.
Omar and I will see some of you on Saturday at the mall and I hope some of you can come to our get together on Sunday. Still don't know where yet.LOL but the time will be 2:00pm)
