I thought I was going to die!
Stupid, stupid me! I ate my dinner around 5 PM as I should. Well daughter and family wanted to go out to eat. And guess who thought they should go? Right, me! I was not hungery, but thought why not a side of glaric mashed potatos? So I ordered them, had a few small bites. By the time I was home, back pain, gas, bloting feeling. Went to bed and stuff kept coming up in mouth. Finely went to sleep. A woke about 2AM and was so sick. Kept throwing up bits of potatos. Around 5 AM daughter heard me and came upstairs. She gave me meds for nausa doc had given me. I was some what better, but by then my mouth was burning from the acid. Was able to go back to sleep and today I feel like I was beat. DO NOT OVER EAT! I learned a very good lesson the hard way.
Do hope every one is having a grand day!

Been there, done that myself! I think we have to go thru those horrible little pouch lessons to learn from our mistakes. Eating too much or too fast seems to trigger my "attacks"
, but I havent had one in a while so I think I am getting better at finding my comfort zone. Sorry you had such a rough night and hope you are back to your chipper self very soon.
Amy

Amy, It is awful. Why do we have to learn some things first hand? One thing for sure, I had done my research, but did not "remember" it when needed. Still have the acid feeling in my throath.(sp) Checked with druggest on crushing my Nexium, he said would be OK. Perhaps that will help. Have not taken since surgery.
I find eating slow is very difficult for me. Always been one to eat and get on with what ever. I even use a baby spoon, no help. Marla
Marla, if misery loves company, you'll love me. I'm 4 1/2 months post-op, and I overate Wednesday at lunch, It was only the second time I have gotten that sick since surgery, and both times from overeating. I threw up three times at work, and then drove myself home and laid down for a couple of hours. It felt horrible, I hope you learn better than I do, and I hope you never go through it again. Good luck, Steve
