AnnaMaria Island???

I have family there does anyone know how it the island got a lot of water or any damage?????

You should have concerns. But be patient. The Hurricane came inland in that area and there is a lot of damage. I do not know exact details.

We were to get the direct hit from Charlie as he made his way around the island and into Tampa Bay. The Island was evacuated on Thrusday evening at 6PM and the bridge was blocked off from Westbound traffic at midnight. Charlie was mostly a non event here. We had very little rain and wind. Thank God. It did hit the North East corner of Manatee County and did a real job on Arcadia...not much left there! The water was turned off on the Manatee side of Longboat but not in Anna Maria so they don't have to boil the water. The power and phone were never lost in this storm. Everything is just fine. The 2 bridges are open and its business as usual. I'm sure you will hear from your family soon. By the way, we have a wonderful support group that meets at the library on 34th street (Bradenton). Please come and see us if you are here on a 2nd Tuesday of a month!
