I will be changing to UHC choice plus on 9/1, I had RNY with BC/BS on 10/29/02. I have a mid line hernia and grade II pannus that needs to be taken care of. Does any one know if they will give me grief? I fought Vista Healthplan for months to no avail, even a lawyer said it was a "gray area" on it being a complication of a non covered benefit. I asked them point blank, and all I got was as long as it is medically necessary they would cover. Any insurance experts out there? Penny Open RNY 10/29/02

Penny, My mom's friend has gotten her PS approved already. She said that what she did was take lots of nude polaroids and visit the doctor multiple times. For skin rashes, back pains, etc. Other than that I am not sure. Karee

I have UHC Choice -- I was approved by them in four days for surgery. I'm hoping that they will look as favorably on the need for PS. Keep us posted. Good luck. LuvitsunnyV

Ruthanna, Thanks for your reply, I needed to hear that they were still covering WLS, that will help in the non covered benefit thing! I'm not even using a ps, my WLS surgeon will be doing it. PS's up here won't even file for insurance. I just want the skin gone! Thanks again Penny
