hay yall

hay yall.. i know i havent been posting but i have been reading... theres so family issues goin on... i went to my first alanon meeting last friday... my mom is an alcholic... so im gonna help my self... if shes not gonna help her... ohh well nothin i can do...so thats where im at.. im getting fustrated with teh sugerything... iy seems like its never gonna happend and that im just wasiting my time... anyway... hope all is well with everyone xoxoxo

Hang in there, Alexa! We're here for you if you need some support. I am SO proud of you for taking the initative to go to a Alanon meeting, I'm sure that wasnt easy. I hope that going will offer you some strength and give you guidance on how to deal with your mother's alcohol struggles. As far as the surgery goes, you just need to keep pluggin away with your supervised diet and then resubmit to the insurance company. I know it seems like such a long time, but I dont want you to give up and have regrets later. You can do this, focus on the healthier lifestyle you deserve and dont give in to those feelings Sending you lots of positive vibes and some pixie dust Amy

Alexa, don't get frustrated, you will be having surgery before you know it. You need to concentrate on your other problems, and the next thing you know, you'll be getting a call, to schedule your surgery. Take care of yourself, don't try to rush anything, you don't need the added stress. Good luck.

Alexa, If I have learned one thing about drinking, it is you can't control it in others (my father's an alcoholic) But you can enable and if you love her , you don't want to do that. Just realize you have to live on and by doing that you are actually helping her. If no one is helping, she just might hit her "bottom" sooner and see what she is doing. BUT YOU CAN'T do it for her. It is great you went to alanon. They are the support you need for that and THIS BOARD IS WHAT YOU NEED FOR YOUR WLS. I know you must be down about it all but just remember to keep busy and make sure you have done all you can do for it and then wait. Surgery will come in time. It's hard............I know. I am still waiting but I think we are all getting closer. Look at the ones that HAVE got it over with. They keep me motivated to do it. This board members keep my spirits up. After all, you can ask anything you want and someone will answer. (I don't get that kind of response at home ) Good luck Carol

Lexa, Hey Sweetie!!! Sorry to hear your going thru some thigns at home. I will be praying thigns get better for you and your family. I am sure it took alot of strength to go to the Alanon meeting! Thats a big step and hopefully with you taking the inititive your mom wont be far behind! Keep your head up and keep on that supervised diet! You've come along way and your getting closer everyday!
