Two Questions

Hello everyone! My surgery date is creeping up on me and I keep forgetting to post these two questions..... Has anyone ever lucked out and had a hernia repair at the same time as the bypass? And has anyone diagnosed with Lupus ever had it go into remission or at least have the symptoms disipate somewhat after losing the weight? Thanks to anyone who can reply! Kathy

Kathy, Good luck on your upcoming surgery! I just had surgery on 7/15. My surgeon took out my gallbladder and also corrected a hernia under my belly button-- he said if he didn't I could have had complications with my gastric bypass. So, instead of a 4-5 inch scar, mine's about double that. But considering the stretch marks on my stomach already resemble a road map, I'm not that worried about one more line! My healing time seemed to be the same as everyone else's who just had bypass only so I don't think the hernia's a big deal. Sorry, I can't help on the lupus question. Hope your surgery goes smoothly and you have a quick recovery !!
