Yippee, it's Friday!!!!!! Are you a book reader? If so, what are you reading now and who is your favorite author? I admit I am an inconsistent book reader, probably because I read so much at work each day that when I'm home, I just dont want to concentrate that much LOL. However, I do enjoy Carl Haiisen. His books are humorous, often twisted mysteries that take place in Florida so I can relate to the environment and many of the types of characters.

Hi Amy, I'm not reading anything right now since I'm getting ready to go back to work (I'm a teacher and we go back on Monday). The best book I read this summer was The Lovely Bones. I teach English and creative writing, so I love a book with an unusual perspective. This one has a dead narrator. It's about a girl who was murdered. She watches the goings on of her family from Heaven. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the question. Stephany

Hey Amy, sounds like an author I might enjoy. Maybe I'll take one of his books to the hospital. Have you read "Skinny Dip"? Found it on-line, sounds pretty good.

Joy, I havent read "Skinny Dip" yet, I just saw him on the Today show promoting it last week. There is another one you might want to read too. I loaned my copy to a former work friend and never got back after he left the company, it's called "Naked Came the Manatee" (I think that was it) and it was written by multiple authors, Haiisen being one of them. One author would write a chapter than it was sent to another author who tagged on to the storyline and wrote the next chapter. They were very secretive about their story direction and didnt influence each other, just let their creativity flow. I thought that premise was interesting and I enjoyed it. Amy

Thanks Amy, I'm going to see what my library has of his titles. If I like an author then I like to collect the books, in hardback. One of my pet peeves is people who don't return my books or CDs! Hope you get yours back. Joy

Joy, I know the libraries in my area carry some of his books. You can also look on half.com or amazon for inexpensive, used books. Anyway, I hope you like him. I really like his quirkiness and humor. Amy
