Question of the Day

It's Monday...blechhhhh! I'm dragging this morning, can't ever seem to wind down on Sunday night and get to bed early. Hopefully, the day will go by quickly. Today's question: What is one of your most embarrassing moments that you are willing to share with the group? G or or PG-rated only please One that comes to mind for me is when I was in highschool. It was the end of the day when everyone is racing to get out of school, I was wearing a long skirt and started down the stairs to leave, the guy behind me was in a bigger hurry that I was and was right on my heels, or should I say right on my skirt. He stepped on my skirt hem and it fell all the way down to the ground with about 50 kids behind me in the stairwell. That was quite a moment. Oh another one just came to me. Years ago, I was standing in my boss' office right in front of his desk chatting with him and the next thing I knew my slip had fallen off and was around my ankles. The elastic had worn out and I was trying to hang on to it for a little while longer before I cought a new one. I remember stepping out of it, scooping it up and walking out the door, wondering if he even knew since he couldnt see it happen sitting at his desk. I never asked him What is your story that you are willing to share to give us a chuckle today? Amy

I could write a book with my embarrassing moments! Hahaha! The one that I will never live down happened when I was 16 when I was going steady with the boy who is now my husband (Mike). He worked on a commercial crabbing boat, so I bought him a necklace with an anchor charm for his birthday. He wore it all the time. One day, I was sitting in his Mom's living room and he came up behind me and leaned over me (kinda upside down) and planted a kiss on my lips. Just then, his Mom called out to him and when he raised his head to answer, the anchor went up my nose!!! He is trying to stand up and I am yelling like crazy, because each time he jerked his head, that anchor went more and more up my nose! Before I knew it, I had his Mom, Dad and brother all trying to get me "unhooked" with Mike still attached. We were all so excited, no one thought about just having him take the necklace off! Needless to say, that's how I "hooked" my man. LOL

I have too many moments to mention here but I'll tell you two of them. First, and worst, I came home from work early one day and had the house to myself for a change. I took my shower and decided to go to the kitchen to get a coke before I got dressed. Little did I know that it was an early dismissal day from school. As I came out of the hall into the living room I saw someone on the couch and they saw me, all of me. To my, and his, horror it was my daughter's 17 year old boyfriend! He brought her home from school and she was in her room changing. It's a wonder he didn't suffer hysterical blindness! Needless to say I didn't hear them come in. This might not be so bad if she hadn't married him three years later and been married to him now for thirteen years now! He never lets me forget it. The other one is not so bad. My daughters were young, six months and five years old, we were grocery shopping in Winn Dixie. I was looking at the meat and the five year old, same one now with the nearly blinded husband, had gone half way up the feminine needs aisle. Next thing I knew she was yelling "Hey Mom, ya need some of these?" and was hold up the lifetime supply size box of kotex! At the time I was not amused.

I guess mine would be just last year when I was sitting at thanksgiving diner with 20+ friends and family and my chair broke when I sat down,, needless to say I was totally embarassed and ashamed because my fat@ss broke this wooden chair,, not only did I hurt myself, but I locked myself in the bathroom for about a half hour. Luckily for me my hubby was there and basically threatened everyone to not say a single word to me about and they never did,,, so I guess that is humiliating or is it degrating?? That is the only thing I can think of,, at the time it wasnt funny but now that I look back at it,, I can laugh,, plus this thanksgiving I am gonna be alot thinner thanks to wls!! Good question to ask,,,

Finally I thought of a terribly embarrassing moment to share. I was in the church handbell choir and we were not that good, but we were playing "Away In A Manger" for the evening service. I had the last note of the piece and after a flawless performance, I rang the WRONG bell!!! For goodness sake, it was the LAST note with nothing else to follow to cover up the mistake!!! The wrong note echoed all through the congregation!!! I will NEVER perform in a live event again! I would also be the one in a choir who comes in early (and alone!)!!

I sat here thinking of what could be my most embarrassing moment....I guess what came first to thought was when I was in high school and I had my first job as a waitress...it was dinner time, and needless to say, crowded. I had only been working for a couple of weeks and was still trying to learn how to balance a tray (which, if you have never done, takes some coordination)....I had several tables I was serving already and just got seated another party...I was rushing out with a tray full of water..when my feet slipped from under me...and down I went...in the middle of the restaraunt! It seemed like everybody stopped and look at me...I was absolutely mortified! ..(I mean it was bad enough we had to polyester uniforms..hehe) What made it worse was that I got a little applause when I got up and managed not to break any of the glasses (they were those small side glasses and easy to balance!) So I think if it was not one of my most embarrassing moments..it was definitely one of the most traumatic!! ~tricia
